So, this is the state of the garden now, after ripping up all the marauding couch & reburying the drip lines. I’m very chuffed with my eggplant, and looking forward to making (and eating!) shahi baingan. Plenty of things have survived the last year of neglect, including, miraculously, some Silvanberries. Or marrionberries, I’m not really sure what I planted. It was a while ago. Some things have appreciated the extra year to grow bigger & bear more fruit than last season, like the apples. So many baby apples! Some things, and yes mint, I’m looking at you and your babies, have spread. I’m finding it hard to fathom how it could find or create the crack in the paving 2m away. My imagination is now basically considering mint to be a fragrant green iceberg, with vast networks underground, out of sight.
